Grand Central Station
This is a basic chronology of the events related to my term in New York.

07-08-24: Dined at Acapella, one of the fine Italian places in the city; we had no idea what we were doing when we walked in the door
07-08-17: Went down to Philly (and Cherry Hill, New Jersey) to visit Emily and some of my family down there!
07-07-30: The most expensive culinary experience of my life (at Le Bernardin!!!
07-07-29: A little bit of Bobby Flay’s Mesa Grill followed by a little bit of Joel Robuchon’s L’Atelier!! It was ridiculous!
07-07-22: Fire Island (Part Deux).
07-07-21: After doing some volunteer work in Chinatown, went to Coney Island!
07-07-17: Enjoyed (which is an understatement) an incredible culinary experience a la JoJo (de Jean Georges). This was followed by a wine tasting at the Italian Wine Merchant. Mmmm!
07-07-15: MoMA?
07-07-07: The concert event of the year: Live Earth. We’re talkin’ the Pumpkins, The Police, Bon Jovi, and so many more!!
07-07-04: Independence Day Fireworks.
07-07-01: Happy Canada Day!! Nothing like going to the best beach (Fire Island, anyone) for some sun and sea
07-06-30: Visited Prospect Park in Park Slope, Brooklyn to catch Sam Roberts and The Stills!!
07-06-24: Did Canada proud and saw Sloan in concert (Central Park). Sahhweeeet!
07-06-23: Saw my first play of the term: Tarzan. (It was not that good and does not deserve exclamation marks )
07-06-17: Went to the Bloomberg summer party on Randall’s Island
07-06-10: New York BBQ Block Party - Ribs, beer, fun!!
07-06-07: Visited the Google office to hear Vint Cerf, VP and Chief Internet Evangelist at Google, speak about the future of the Internet.
07-05-30: Saw KEANE in Central Park.. what a hot concert!!
07-05-26: Played some Hold ‘Em in Atlantic City!
07-05-15: Went to the taping of Inside the Actors Studio to see James Lipton (host) and CHARLIE SHEEN!! (Thanks to Google and Dave!)
07-05-13: Celebrity sighting — Mark Messier!
07-05-12: Flew down for the second term.
06-12-15: Went to a taping of Late Night With Conan O’Brien!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
06-12-10: NBC studios tour! Statue of Liberty!! Mesa Grill!!!!!!!!
06-12-09: Chris visits! We go to the Guggenheim and a New York Knicks game!!
06-12-08: Gee tees at the Black Finn!
06-12-05: Number ten. And, boy, what a number ten: Les Miserables!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
06-12-03: Saw #9: Hairspray!! AND COPELAND!!!!!! WAAAAHOOOOOOOO!
06-12-02: Went outdoor skating at Bryant Park, then visited the Met Museum!
06-12-01: The Google Holiday Party. Yes.
06-11-29: Went to see the Christmas Tree lighting at the Rockefeller Center!!
06-11-25: Hung out at Temple, a sweet club near Times Square
06-11-19: Ran the Race to Deliver, a 4-mile run in Central Park!
06-11-11: Visited the Top of the Rock! Was about to see A Drowsy Chaperone, but I gave my tickets away
06-11-10: Had quite a night: Spice Market, The Park, and then Whiskey Blue!
06-11-07: Saw my EIGHTH show!!! And this one was a doosey: The Phantom of the Opera!!!!!
06-11-05: Saw my seventh show: How to Save the World and Find True Love in 90 Minutes!!!
06-11-04: Saw my sixth show: A Chorus Line!! (I shared a box with one of the subs!)
06-11-03: Ate at Room Service, a trendy little Thai restaurant near me! Mmm!
06-10-31: Celebrated Halloween at the party in my building!!
06-10-28: Went back to Jersey Gardens to do some mid-term shopping!
06-10-22: Re-visited the American Museum of Natural History to see the exhibits that I skipped the first time. Saw Martin Short!
06-10-21: Went to New Jersey to visit some family. Then, I saw Avenue Q!!!
06-10-18: Hung out at the Half King Pub with a random group of friends to celebrate my birthday!
06-10-08: Took a look at the Rockefeller Center (again).
06-10-07: Visited Central Park with friends from Canada! Then we saw Stomp!!
06-10-01: Went to see Wicked!!!!!!!!!!!
06-09-30: Saw the Yankees play vs the Jays!
06-09-25: Went to a coffeehouse put on by my church’s young adults ministry at a place called DTUT, a cool little coffee shop with lots of character.
06-09-23: Ate at Sparks Steak House, supposedly the best steak house in NYC. (And at $90 a head, it had better be pretty close to the top!) Then lounged around at Stone Rose and Hudson, two very trendy (and expensive) lounges.
06-09-22: Took the Staten Island Ferry to visit the little island to the south (and subsequently found out that there is nothing to do there)!
06-09-17: Saw Chicago!!!! Also visited Chinatown for the first time. (It stinks.)
06-09-16: Hung out at the Chelsea Piers, which is a convenient 3 minute walk from my apartment! Also went to the Shake Shack. Also ate at RUB!! Later at night, I went to Brooklyn to visit Dave and took some pictures of Manhattan.
06-09-11: Visited Central Park again, and then to the Apple Store on 5th Avenue!
06-09-10: Hung around Central Park!
06-09-09: Went to see RENT!!!! Also dined at the Hard Rock Cafe!
06-09-08: Ate at Cola’s, a cute little Italian restaurnant in Chelsea. Then walked around New York like crazy.
06-09-04: Paid a visit to the Bronx Zoo!
06-09-03: Went to St. Patrick’s Cathedral for Mass. Also dropped by the Rockefeller Center,
which was in the area.
06-09-02: Ate at Cho Dang Gol, a sweet Korean place. Then I went to Gingerman, a bar with a HUGE number of drinks on tap. (Check out the wall of taps on their site!)
06-09-01: Went to the beautiful Columbia University campus. (Unfortunately, rain made taking pictures difficult.)
06-08-25: Visited the Union Square Farmer’s Market and the famous Whole Foods Market. Then I went to the Google office!!
06-08-24: Opened up my bank account and bought my first MetroCard!! Also went to some Thai place for lunch, walked around Times Square, Broadway and Union Square (briefly), and saw The Illusionist.
06-08-23: Flew to New York and arrived at the apartment! Went out with Brian (the landlord) to
The Park
06-07-14: Signed rental contract for my apartment
06-06-12: Matched successfully with Bloomberg
06-06-09: Selection result released: job offer!
06-06-01: Selected by Bloomberg as a candidate
06-06-01: Interview with Bloomberg
